Leaves of Gold for Charity
Jewelry Scene

World Gold Council has created a collection of celebrity designed leaf motif gold jewelry called “Leaves of Change” which will be auctioned off for charity. Each celebrity is paired with a gold jewelry designer who is producing three pieces: one to wear, one to be auctioned to benefit a charity, and one to tour 16 Jared stores across the country. The charity auction, live and on-line, will be on May 7 in New York.

Participating jewelry designers and charities include: Christina Applegate with Alex Woo for Right Action for Women; Whoopi Goldberg with Annie Fensterstock for Ronald McDonald House; Marcia Gay Harden with Ariane Zurcher for Waterkeeper Alliance; Samantha Harris with Erica Molinari for Jewelers for Children; Eric McCormack with Mauri Pioppo for Project Angel Food; Debra Messing with Robert Lee Morris for Youth AIDS; Chris Noth with Robin Rotenier for Make-A-Wish Foundation; Rachael Ray with K. Brunini for Yum-o!; and Susan Sarandon with Mattioli for Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen.

“Bringing together highly talented celebrities with renowned jewelry designers will create exciting and innovative gold designs,” says John Calnon, managing director for World Gold Council, U.S. “The simultaneous benefit to multiple charities, especially in such difficult economic times, makes for a meaningful and lasting impact.” For more information, visit
