HIGH CONTRAST: Opposites always attract and black and white is definitely back. Since silver is the most important material for jewelry this year, it’s not surprising that silver in bold black and white is the look of the season. Always classic, the combination of black and white has been updated by the addition of blackened metal to the jewelry palette. Blackened sterling has become particularly important, adding a fresh new luxe look for the white metal. Sometimes combined with high-karat gold, black and white silver designs are everywhere this season. Women have found that blackened sterling mixes as well with yellow gold as with white metals, making it versatile enough to wear everyday, with everything.

STYLE ESSENTIALS: The color play works with a woman’s wardrobe, too. Blackened sterling stands out against white and white silver adds the perfect graphic punch to the black clothing designs on the fall runways. In addition to all white, all black, and black and white sterling designs, look for black gems set in white silver and white gems set in blackened silver, too. Dramatic, undeniably. And irresistible: Nothing in this story retails for more than $4,000, and most is considerably more affordable.
