Behind Time
Last Detail

Most jeweled timepieces are designed face forward, with a traditional dial to tell the time. Jewelry designer Christian Tse has created a new collection of gem encrusted watches replacing the traditional watch face with uninterrupted diamond and gemstone pavé. The time lies behind in a digital readout that shines through the gems with a press of a button. The new “Prismatic” collection uses the extra wrist real estate to show off mosaic patterns in gemstones like diamonds, sapphires, or amethyst. Twenty different designs range from all diamond to color gradients to pink hearts, leopard spots, or the red white, and blue of the Union Jack. Bands in stingray or alligator coordinate. It’s a fresh new way to see—or not to see—time. — Cheryl Kremkow
