Modern Jewelry Trends

Victor Basteris thinks jewelry should be bold, personal, unusual, and brightly colored.  His new Sabido & Basteris collection, making its official US debut at JCK this year, is created in fine, soft thread made of recycled silver in vivid colors.  The collection also uses gold, gemstones, wood, crystal, leather, and mother-of-pearl in a wide palette of colors to make dramatic one of a kind neckpieces and other jewelry.  Each piece has an elaborate story of mythological inspiration. But Sabido & Basteris’ most interesting piece is perhaps its most simple: a recreation of the friendship bracelet in woven silver thread in a combination of colors.  Sabido & Basteris will be exhibiting in the Italian Pavilion of JCK, IP 87.
